DOT Approved Hydro-Static Testing Facility
We can re-valve any broken or defective valves. Each steel cylinder valve will be placed in the cylinders by our valve machine to makes sure they get tight. Aluminum cylinders normally will be valved by hand to make sure it doesn’t get over tightened.
Hydro Static Testing
A hydrostatic test is a way in which pressure vessels such as a cylinder can be tested for strength and leaks. The cylinders are normally filled with water and placed in a blast jacket for testing. Testing involves pressurizing the cylinders up to the service pressure from the DOT tag located on the cylinders. Once the test is complete the cylinders will have either passed or failed. If they pass, the cylinders with get a new hydro date -if they fail, the cylinders s/n will be X out.
Shot blasting (internally and externally) consists of little metal beads being shot at the cylinder to get it down to the raw metal. We can externally blast any cylinder’s paint off and take it down to raw metal. This process doesn’t damage the cylinder, it’s just takes the paint off. If a customer wants to switch services of gas for a cylinder, we can also internally blast the cylinders.
Once the cylinders are blasted, we can paint the cylinder any color or tone of the customer’s choice. Painting the cylinder will help to keep rust from forming and can help the customer with identifying their cylinders and/or what service it is in (i.e. different color cylinder for different type of gas).
